I am deeply saddened to hear about actor Patrick Swayze's death today. I have seen better days than today, but learning about Patrick Swayze's death, at the young age of 57, makes the trials and tribulations of my day, and of my life, seem suddenly trivial.
Patrick Swayze had been fighting a downhill battle with pancreatic cancer since March of 2008. "Patrick Swayze passed away peacefully today with family at his side after facing the challenges of his illness for the last 20 months," said a statement released Monday evening by his publicist, Annett Wolf. Swayze died in Los Angeles, Wolf said, but declined to give further details."

Here is a list of related links about Mr. Patrick Swayze, a well-known actor, but, more importantly, a really interesting, heroic man who, it seems to me, was an incredibly honest and insightful human being, and also happened to possess a gift that is not so common with every Hollywood celebrity: integrity.
